It's a baffling plot but the notions of predestination and scientists going too far with their knowledge, are interesting. The burden of having to cater to the demands of Marvel Universe fans - featuring so many characters - is a testament to the writers and the director. It's a noisy actioner but compact and Downey Jr's mousetrap fast witty repartee is entertaining and there is good support from the likes of Paul Bettany this time round. Those unacquainted with the film series will not get its full effect from the limited backstory given
