Bill Baker, an Oklahoma oil-rig roughneck traveling to Marseille to see his estranged daughter Allison who has been imprisoned for an offense she claims she didn't commit, encounters language and cultural barriers as well as an unfamiliar legal system; upon hearing of Allison's conviction in prison for that act. Confronted by language differences and legal complications he embarks upon an incredible mission: exonerating Allison.
