Geophysicist Josh Keyes discovered that an unknown cause has stopped the inner core of earth from rotating. The planet's magnetism is rapidly degrading and our atmosphere begins to literally fall apart. Keyes and a group of gifted scientists travel to the core of the Earth in order to resolve this crisis. The mission is to detonate an explosive device which will activate the earth's core.
